There will be some changes on the sidelines in Beaver Stadium this upcoming college football season. Legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno will be without his sidekick of 44 years, his trademark coke bottle-thick eye glasses.
Paterno decided that enough was enough and went in for lasik surgery last month to correct his less than stellar vision. Paterno, a traditionalist, has finally crossed over to the dark side.
It will definitely take some time to get used to seeing Joe Pa without his signature glasses. One can’t help but wonder if his old frames will make their way over to the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, IN. Welcome to the new millennium coach, it’s good to have you.
