Attention sports gamblers, the NCAA will no longer hold championship tournaments in states that permit betting on single games. This NCAA measure is in response to a federal judge denying a request by professional sports leagues and the NCAA to halt Delaware’s planned sports betting lottery until a legal challenge is resolved.
On August 5th, Judge Gregory M. Sleet, of the U.S. District Court in Delaware, virtually paved the way for sports betting in Delaware to debut on September 1st. He denied the professional sports league and NCAA’s injunction to stop sports gambling. However, the lawsuit will still move forward on December 7th for trial.
If there is no appeal to the U.S. Third Circuit regarding the injunction, on September 1st, you may place your bets at any three racetrack casinos in Delaware.
