Ohio State donates money received via Penn State.

Due to the sweeping sanctions imposed on Penn State following the Jerry Sandusky scandal, all Big Ten Conference members received a portion of Penn State’s $2.3 million of conference bowl revenue.  Each school was allocated approximately $181,000 as a result of the sanctions.  Earlier this week, Ohio State announced that it was donating its share to two local child-advocacy organizations ($150,000 to Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Family Safety and Healing and $31,344 to the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Franklin County).

All members are required to donate their share to local charities that benefit children or have a child-focused cause.
