BTN’s Coach of the Year-Bill O’Brien

Nittany Lion head coach Bill O’Brien takes home another accolade for Penn State’s successful 2012 football season as he won the Big Ten Network Men’s Team Coach of the Year award. This is O’Brien’s sixth coach of the year award to include the Maxwell Football Club, ESPN, both Big Ten coaches and media, and the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year award.

The BTN Coach of the Year award comes at the heels of O’Brien receiving a $1 million pay raise effective July 1, 2013.  His base salary will jump from roughly $900,000 to $1.9 million.  This coupled with his radio, television, and Nike endorsement deal brings O’Brien to a deserving $3.2 million per season.

Congratulations to Bill O’Brien and the Nittany Lion nation.  Best of luck in the upcoming 2013 football campaign.
