Can Matt Barkley and SC win it all this year?

We are just a few short weeks away from the start of the college football season. For today, we give you some of the college football odds favorites to win the national championship, and I’ll let you know if I agree with the sportsbooks.

USC +300

After a long lay off from bowl contention, the Trojans are back and reloaded like never before. The Trojans are the odds on favorites to win it all, and with Matt Barkley and company, you have a great team. USC not only are the favorites, but there are several huge names considering transferring from Penn State to USC, including Silas Redd. Look out, the Pac-12 is all theirs.

LSU +350

The Tigers come in as the second favorite to win it all in 2012, and there is no denying that Les Miles and company should be there. They have retained a lot of their talent, and they have added countless four-star recruits, and four of them are in the top 150. Their defense was 2nd in the nation last year only to Alabama, and they will hang their hat on that side of the ball again in route to their quest for revenge in 2012.

Alabama +500

The defending champs come in as the third favorites in the odds, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t ready to defend their title. Bama did lose several key members of the national championship team, including four first round picks from this past NFL draft, and eight overall. Even though they lost all that firepower, especially on defense, they will be right there competing for the SEC with LSU.
