With the NC State football season long gone, students need to find that buzz to fill the void until spring football is underway. Well the Wolfpack are in luck as the 8th annual Krispy Kreme Challenge is just around the corner.
The ultimate collegiate challenge is a five mile doughnut infused race that must be completed in one hour. The race begins at the NCSU Memorial Belltower at the corner of Hillsborough Street and Pullen Road. Participants run 2.5 miles to the nearby Krispy Kreme on Peace Street. The participant then consume 12 original glazed doughnuts. Upon consuming the entire box, the participant must turn around and run 2.5 miles back to the Belltower. Basically, you have to run five miles and eat 12 donuts in under one hour.
The race is slated for February 4, 2012 and the registration fee is $20 for NCSU students and $27 for non-NCSU students. All proceeds will benefit the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. Last year, there were over 7,500 participants with over $122,000 in donations. Space is limited, so sign up NOW.
