The feisty Joe Paterno will not let a minor injury keep him down

Legendary coach Joe Paterno has yet again caused concern for the Nittany Lion faithful.  Yesterday, the old ball coach was injured during practice after he was blindsided by the speedy Devon Smith during a running drill.  Though Paterno was able to walk off the practice field, he did sustain injuries to his right arm and hip (injuries include a hairline fracture in both shoulders and pelvis).

With his never say die attitude, coach Paterno conducted today’s coaches meeting over speaker phone from the Mount Nittany Medical Center and he told everyone not to worry.  Tests are still being conducted to determine the extent of Paterno’s injuries, but from the Nittany Lion camp, it does not look like he will need surgery and should return to practice soon.

Paterno is entering his 46th season as head coach and despite any injuries he is ready to hit the practice field to prepare for his date with Alabama in week 2.
