Addazio to Temple, a good fit?

Florida OC Steve Addazio was successful at Florida, but can he replicate his offensive ingenuity as a head coach at Temple? Temple made a bold move with the hiring of Steve Addazio, but is he the right man for the job? There is no question that Addazio has good pedigree and brings unparalleled coaching experience to Temple; however, Temple fans better be patient, because it’s a lot easier to accomplish great things when you are backed by a school rich in...

The academic Heisman goes to Texas DE Sam Acho

Each season, the William V. Campbell Trophy, better known as the “Academic Heisman,” is awarded to college football’s top scholar-athlete. This prestigious accolade was recently awarded to Texas defensive end Sam Acho. Acho, a terrorizing player on the field, beat out Alabama QB Greg McElroy, Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien, and FSU QB Christian Ponder. During his 2010 campaign, Acho led the Longhorns with 9 sacks and 17 tackles for loss. He finished the season with 59 tackles, five forced...

Early Christmas for Texas? OC Greg Davis Resigns

College football is about winning. What you did for the team yesterday has no implications for what you did for the team today. To many pleased fans, Texas OC Greg Davis is the latest to fall victim to this ridiculous mantra. The University of Texas confirmed offensive coordinator Greg Davis resigned from his position effective immediately. This abrupt shake-up may prove to be a panic move rather than a well thought out decision. Davis is steadfast and should be...

UCLA, Brehaut knocked out by smash-mouth Huskies

The hits just keep on coming for UCLA. During the 3rd quarter of last night’s loss to conference foe Washington, UCLA’s QB Richard Brehaut was leveled by safety Nate Williams after Brehaut was coming in for a slide. The play resulted in a helmet-to-helmet personal foul, but more importantly it ended the night for Brehaut. Brehuat tried to continue but he was suffering from concussion like symptoms that caused the team doctor to bench the dazed QB and forced Rick...

Longhorns crushed, CB Chykie Brown out for the season

The Texas Longhorns (4-5, 2-4 in Big XII play) continue to run-a-muck in the world of irrelevance and Coach Mack Brown cannot seem to temper the mood. This past Saturday, Kansas State embarrassed the Longhorns with a 25 point beat down in a 39-14 demolishing of Texas. The team is in panic mode dropping 5 of their last 6 games with two top 25 teams left on their schedule (Oklahoma State and Texas A&M). To make matters worse, senior...

A Prince takes a knee

Not only did UCLA get embarrassed 60-13 by Oregon this past Thursday, but the Bruins got more bad news as they learned QB Kevin Prince will miss the remainder of the season after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Prince missed the last two Bruins’ games before undergoing surgery this Saturday to repair the meniscus in his knee. Prince’s knee continued to bother him with pain and swelling after last month’s surprise upset win over Texas and team doctors...

@JazReynolds: watch what you tweet!

Oklahoma wide receiver Jaz Reynolds took the Red River Rivalry trash talking and tweeting a bit too far on Tuesday. After a gunman opened fire at the University of Texas, Reynolds sent derogatory tweets on his twitter page to memorialize the event: “Hey everyone in Austin, tx… kill yourself.” Then he tweeted: “Everyone in austin, tx disregard that last tweet… y’all will mess around n do it lmao.” As result of his insensitive remarks, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops indefinitely...

Texas out another RB

The Texas Longhorns were informed by the NCAA that senior tailback Vondrell McGee lost his appeal and is deemed academically ineligible to play this season. Coach Mack Brown was disappointed in the outcome and will certainly miss the services of his senior TB who amassed 973 yards and 14 TDs in the 35 games he played as a Longhorn. The university did state that McGee is still enrolled as a student as is scheduled to graduate this December.
