Masoli trying to make possible, possible

Former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli is looking for a different kind of limelight. NFL.com is reporting that the troubled Masoli will enter this year’s NFL supplemental draft which will be held on July 15th. His off-the field antics certainly cause concern over his commitment to not only football, but life in general. Masoli, who was probably on parole at birth, has always been fighting the law. What first landed him in hot water at Oregon was his felony charges...

Arizona’s Dean suspended

Arizona WR Delashaun Dean acted like a wildcat over the weekend which landed him right into a set of cop locks. Early Saturday morning, Dean decided to tip back the devil’s juice and top off the night with a short stack from IHOP. As we all know, when you visit the greasy spoon on North Oracle Road, you always pack some heat because you never know the type of service you will get. Unfortunately for Dean, a patron saw Dean brandish...

Judgment day is coming

The most preeminent athletic program in the PAC-10 awaits its fate for alleged impropriety. USC already addressed the issue surrounding basketball phenom O.J. Mayo and opted with self imposed sanctions. The school put a ban on postseason play, reduced scholarships, and vacated all wins from 2007-08. The football team is facing allegations...

Mountain West flirts with Boise State

Lost in all of the recent Big Ten/SEC/Pac-10/Big XII conference expansion noise, is Boise State and the Mountain West Conference’s (MWC) courting of the Broncos. Boise State could be the first school to bolt for greener pastures if they accept the rumored MWC invite next month during conference president meetings. While everyone is focusing on the four power college football conferences and their potential expansions, a situation is brewing out west that could be the first shot fired in...

Grand Theft Golf Cart

Things are getting a little hairy for the Beaver football team. Gas prices in Corvallis, Oregon, apparently are so high that folks are resorting to stealing golf carts for their mode of transportation. Brennan Olander, a 6’1, 276 lb. defensive tackle was arrested along with former Oregon State football players QB Lyle Moevao, and LB Keaton Kristick. The three men stole the golf cart from the Oregon State athletic offices and used it for three days before flipping it...

The NCAA has a unique relationship with USC

The NCAA has some bizarre love affair with USC and appears to go out of its way to protect the program. Recently, the Pac 10 conference reported that an unnamed coach (Pete Carroll) was found in violation for having a paid consultant on staff during practices and games. The violation wasn’t necessarily the hiring of a consultant; rather, it had more to do with the number of coaches the team employed. Though the Pac 10 did not release the...
