Former Heisman Finalist Arrested in Hawaii

Colt Brennan's life after football has been anything but good.

Quarterback Colt Brennan would have more luck playing at partybingo.com than he would at living life as he was arrested last week in Kailua, Hawaii for felony drug possession and drunk driving.  The former Hawaii superstar who owns college football’s single season touchdown passing record (58 TDs) was pulled over for driving 10 miles over the speed limit.  This infraction led to him being charged for DUI and for promoting a dangerous drug, a 3rd degree felony.  Brennan was ultimately released from the Honolulu Police Station but this matter is not closed as an investigation is pending.

Since finishing 3rd in the 2007 Heisman voting and taking the Warriors to its only BCS bowl game, Brennan held a brief stint with the NFL’s Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders, a team that released him in 2010.  Afterwards, he played for the UFL’s now defunct Hartford Colonials.  When the renaissance man was released by the Colonials, Brennan took his services north but was recently cut from the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.

This is Brennan’s second motor-vehicle incident in as many years.  Back in November 2010, Brennan was involved in a serious motor vehicle incident in which he suffered head injuries and lacerations to his face.  It’s apparent Hawaii’s favorite quarterback does not seem to be adjusting well to life after football.
